When God goes Missing In Action..MIA

I really feel great writing again. Some might wonder where He has been. Sure I have been  busy, but the good news is that kingsley is back.
I was reading a wonderful piece recently and I came across something wonderful which I would like to share with you all my friends. God is real, no matter how you feel. It is easy to worship God when things are going great in your life. But the circumstances are not always pleasant. How do you worship god then? What do you do when god seems a million miles away?  The deepest level of worship is praising god in spite of pain, thanking God during trial, loving him even when he seems distant.
Friendships are always tested by separation and silence; you are divided by physical distance or you are unable to talk. In your friendship with God, you won’t always feel close to him. To mature your friendship, God will test it with periods of seeming separation- times when it feels as if he has abandoned or forgotten you. According to A.W. Tozer he called it “the ministry of the night”. Besides Jesus, David probably had the closest friendship with God of anyone. Yet David frequently in psalms complained of God’s apparent absence. Of course, God hadn’t really left David, and he doesn’t leave you. He has promised repeatedly that he will never leave you or forsake you. But if the truth must be told, God has never promised “you will always feel my presence”. There are times when God appears to be MIA, missing in action, in your life. These are times when you wake up and all your spiritual feelings are gone. You pray and nothing happens, you rebuke the devil yet nothing changes. You have friends pray for you and confess all manner of sin you can remember, yet nothing happens. In utter desperation you cry out, “what is wrong with me?” the truth is, there is nothing wrong with you!  This is a normal part of the testing and maturing of your friendship with God. Every Christian goes through it at least once and usually several times. It is painful and disconcerting, but it’s absolutely vital for the development of your faith.
When god seems distant, you may feel he is angry with you or disciplining you for some sin. In fact, sin disconnects us from intimate fellowship with God. We grieve Gods Spirit and quench our fellowship with him.  But often times, this feeling of abandonment have nothing to do with sin. It is a test of faith- one we all must face. Will you continue to love, trust and obey and worship him even when you have no sense of his presence or visible evidence of his work in your life?
The most common mistake Christians make in worship today is seeking experience rather than seeking God. They look for a feeling, and when that happens, they conclude that they have worshiped God. Wrong! Seeking a feeling, even the feeling of closeness to Christ, is not worship. I would love to urge us to stay faithful to God even when we don’t  feel  him, because worshiping God has nothing to do with how you feel.
A friendship based on emotion is shallow indeed.

Hold On...

Our experiences in life changes just like the weather conditions. At different times we are faced with either pleasurable or harrowing conditions. Sometimes we experience heat-warming success, at other times we experience heart-rending  failures. Sometimes there is much joy and laughter, at other times there is much sorrow and sighing. Sometimes we bubble with life and health, other times we are over taken by sickness. Sometimes we enjoy prosperity with plenty, other times we endure lack and hunger. A lot of persons change with their changing circumstances. When the going gets good, they are elated and highly spirited, but when they get hit by an ugly circumstance, everything goes down completely. They lose the glee and gladness they once had when everything was favorable to them.  Most Christians do same. They love and obey God, go to church and do all manner of religious activities when things are all rosy, when there are no challenges, and turn against Him when thin...

LETTER TO MY TEENAGE BOY AND GIRL 2

My dear, I believe that you enjoyed the last letter I wrote to you and you have also seen how important that letter is to your future. Well, just like I told you the last time I wrote to you, I am here to complete what I started. Among many other things, I would love to remind you that you should not be confused when you see your opposite sex, behaving in differently in a relationship. Lack of understanding of the difference between a girl and a boy, makes a lot of your friends endanger their lives.  You should be able to know what the guy wants from you and you the guy should know what the girl wants from you. God created you all differently and reasons for doing this is best known to him. But I believe that God love variety and as such decided to create us all differently instead of a robot. Lifestyle is another practical reason why a lot of your friends fall in love today and fall out tomorrow. Please I would love you to learn early that you can do things that will a...

LETTER TO MY TEENAGE BOY AND GIRL

My young boy and girl, you should make it a market of your time to discover the origin of love and   friendship, because it is only a mad man who eats without seeing the face of what he or she is eating. Love and friendship comes from the most high God. He is the inventor. His intention for creating love and friendship is to help mankind. God invented love when he realized that men cannot be at peace without his love being with them. My young boy and girl, what you feel for the opposite sex is not love because love is far bigger than mere feelings. At this sensitive point in your life, think of hoe to build stronger relationship not how to make love; LOVE is created through the act of relationship. Love is developed through friendship. My little girl, permit me to also say that sex is not a form of payment for someone loving you or doing something for you. There are many of your pseudo friends whose mindset and thought is to have sex with someone that they help...
